Individual Counseling

Individual therapy is a joint process between a therapist and a person in therapy. Common
goals of therapy can be to inspire change or improve quality of life. People may seek therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone.
Therapy can help people overcome obstacles to their well-being. It can increase positive
feelings, such as compassion and self-esteem. People in therapy can learn skills for handling
difficult situations, making healthy decisions, and reaching goals. Many find they enjoy the
therapeutic journey of becoming more self-aware. Some people even go to ongoing therapy for
self-growth.
WHEN IS IT BEST TO SEEK THERAPY?
It could be time to seek therapy if an issue causes distress or interferes with daily life. Distress
can mean negative thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or even a bodily sensation such as pain or
fatigue. It is important not to wait until symptoms become severe before going to therapy. It may
be best to seek therapy if you are often unhappy or feel overwhelmed and hopeless about issues
in your life. Therapy can also help if you cannot focus on work or school, experience addiction, or
feel like hurting yourself or someone else.

Couple Counseling

Couples therapy is a type of psychotherapy focused on helping a couple work through challenges, understand their relationship better, and develop healthier ways of relating to one another. The therapist uses specific therapeutic techniques and interventions to support the couple's goals.
Many couples come to couple's therapy because they are dealing with a specific challenge, such as
communication issues, work/life balance, household balance, finance concerns, difficulties around sex, affairs, or considering a breakup. At the core, it's about helping couples work through difficulties and get unstuck from repeating unhealthy relational patterns.

Family Counseling

Family therapy is designed to address specific issues that affect the psychological health of the
family, such as major life transitions or mental health conditions. It may be used as the primary
mode of treatment or as a complementary approach.
The Benefits of Family Counseling
Families can benefit from therapy when they experience any stressful event that may strain
family relationships, such as financial hardship, divorce, or the death of a loved one. In addition,
it can be effective in treating mental health concerns that impact the family as a whole, such as
depression, substance abuse, chronic illness, and food issues, or everyday concerns,
like communication problems, interpersonal conflict, or behavioral problems in children and
adolescents.
Family counseling aims to promote understanding and collaboration among family members in
order to solve the problems of one or more individuals.
